Say No To Pay Day Loans

The Payday loan machine is growing rapidly, and many believe this unregulated industry is a ticking timebomb waiting to explode. High interest rates and disastrous consequences of missing payments have lead many into a spiral of 'payday' debt.

As the country, its people and its politicians slowly nudge towards a new level of understanding of the dangers of the industry, the question is, how long do we have left before the bomb explodes. There is only one solution - diffuse the bomb.

The Campaign

Payday loan companies would find it very difficult indeed to operate unregulated if they had nobody to operate with! Whilst governing bodies like the Office of Fair Trading battle to keep companies in line with responsible lending guidelines, and whilst courageous MP's such as Stella Creasy devote so much personal time to the cause, it is only really through the people that real change can be achieved. We say no to payday loans - until a time when they are regulated effectively.

The Book

The proof is in the pudding and I ate the whole damn thing. Sometimes you just have to experience something to know how bad it tastes, so when I take 64 payday loans in less than 2 years, it qualifies me to start such a campaign. The Petition

It is only through proper and meaningful regulatory changes that the payday loan industry can really become a positive source of financial support for me and you. The qualification process, repeat or rollover loan facilities, default penalties and charges as it stands are all operating in a way which is detrimental to the people taking loans. The government must step in to enforce change, and the petion below will be sent to the government, to demand just that.
